"Visiting India was always going to be colourful and energetic, travelling there with Secret Projects turned it into a life changing, enriching, and utterly amazing experience.
The organisers handled the logistics so well, yet in a way that felt authentic to the country adding to the whole experience, whilst meeting all of our individual needs. Being part of a group meant experiences were shared making them so much more and friendships were made, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the trip.
A key focus of the trip was engagement with local communities, and the welcome and generosity we received, for me, made the trip so special. Whether it was visiting the homes of the people we met, going to thier workplaces or markets, hearing their stories and sharing meals with them, I have some transformative, and unforgettable memories and a strong desire to travel in this way again." "Travelling with Secret Projects is a truly joyful, enriching and life-enhancing experience that will live in your memory for years. But, don't just take our word for it... here are some thoughts from our Customers...
Travelling with Secret Projects was one of the most joyful and life-enriching experiences I have ever had and what I heard, saw tasted and felt has stayed with me as beautiful memories that return to me frequently.
When I reflect on why the trip was so wonderful I think it comes down to firstly how well organised it was- none of my brain was diverted into worrying about practicalities and logistics, and secondly because I felt that meeting members of the communities we visited was an equal experience.
At every new meeting there was a chance to sit together with the women who make up Secret Projects, to listen and to share thoughts and experiences on very equal terms; and we made things together! From transforming pegs and wet wipes into butterflies with students in a remote community school to a beaded necklace, it was a trip that offered a chance to sensitively engage and collaborate with communities.
Even as I type this my mind is full of snapshots of the most incredible experiences and there is no way that any of them would have been possible without taking a Secret Projects trip, the memories I have come to value most were where I felt so at home; when we were invited to a family house or a newly established shop, providing the hand for a young girl to have a go at applying her first henna creation, a dash through Bangalore streets to a bustling market for beads … I think I left a large part of my heart there!"
